Basic Handling Skills Course
Gain your Learner License by completing the Introduction to Road Riding - Basic Handling Skills course, which includes the Motorcycle Skills Test.
This course provides essential information and techniques for owning and riding your own motorcycle, as well as managing risks and hazards out on the road.
Roadsafe’s Basic Handling Skills course not only provides you with coaching to help you pass your learner license test, it also introduces survival skills for riding on-road now, and for successfully progressing to your restricted and full license later.
Returning riders find this is a great course to help them brush up on their basic riding techniques in the safety of an off-road area, before investing in the purchase of their own motorcycle.
You will learn:
- pre-ride checks
- basic maintenance
- information on riding gear
- how to ride at low speed with balance and control
- correct braking technique
- safe cornering, and stopping in a corner
- what to expect when riding on road
Graduation information pack containing course materials will be provided on completion of the course.
Course participants can bring their own bike, or motorcycle hire is available with free use of helmet, gloves and wet weather gear if required.
Basic Handling Skills 'Test Only' option is available for competent and experienced riders.
